The book of Revelation foretells events that will unfold on earth at the end of time. There are seven churches, seven seals, seven trumpets and seven bowls of the wrath of God written on this book. Beginning in chapter 4, we learned that there are four living creatures around the throne of God. Then, Revelation 6 presents to us the four horseman of the Apocalypse, which is followed by four angels in Revelation 7.
Prophecies come alive in the book of Revelation starting here in chapter 6. We hardly study the earlier chapters for we thought they have nothing to do at all about our current trouble here on earth.
“Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer” (Revelation 6:2).
When Jesus had broken the first seal of the scroll, John heard the first cherub that was like a lion, saying, ‘come and see’ what it is all about.
John looked and saw a white horse.
Horse is a coded word for an army in the book of Revelation. In Revelation 6, John had witnessed the breaking of the six seals of the book or scroll in chapter 5 and the first seal prophesies of a white horse.
Many Christian leaders who dabble in the interpretation of biblical prophecies thought the white horse as a representation of the preaching of the gospel. They thought the rider of the white horse has something to do with Jesus Christ since the book also shows Jesus Christ in Revelation 19:11-16 riding on a white horse. But knowing Jesus has a sharp sword in His mouth instead of a bow, they presumed the first seal prophesies of the preaching of a false gospel by a false Church.
They are greatly mistaken.
The four horsemen in the book of Revelation prophesy of the armies of the four powerful nations or group of nations that shall march all over the earth in this end of time. We should define the ‘end of time’ as referring to the years after 6,000 years from Creation Week have ended.
Although the allotted 6,000 years that God had given mankind could have ended already in the year 1996 or 1997, the author reckons the year 2000 as the end of the 6,000 years. God foresee our shortcoming and the errors in our way before it even happened. Many people on earth regard the start of a new millennium in the year 2000 for they have no knowledge about the error in the reckoning of years of the Gregorian calendar.
1 AD or 1 CE is supposed to be the year that Jesus Christ was born but the truth is 5 BC or 5 BCE is the precise birth year of the Lord. Herod the Great died in the year 4 BC or 4 BCE. You can not place the birth year of Jesus at a year that Herod the Great is already dead for the Holy Bible shows us that Herod the Great had conferred with the Wise Men from the East.
“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the East, and have come to worship him." When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. They told him, "In Bethlehem of Judea; for so it is written by the prophet: 'And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will govern my people Israel'"” (Matthew 2:1-6, RSV).
When it comes to the Book of Revelation the end of the world occurred after the year 2000. The year 2001 is the official starting year of the New Millennium, which happens to be the year we can reckon the start of the fulfillment of the prophecies in the book of Revelation.
According to timeanddate.com, “The reason why the 3rd Millennium / 21st Century starts in 2001 is because there was no year 0 (or AD 0, 0 BC). The year before 1 A.D. is defined as year 1 B.C., so year 0 was skipped. Therefore, January 1st, year 1 is defined to be the start of the 1st century and the 1st Millennium. Because one Millennium is 1000 years, the first Millennium ends with year 1000. The next (2nd) Millennium starts 1000 years after the first, that is in year 1+1000 = 1001. And the 3rd one starts 1000 years later than the 2nd: 1001+1000 = 2001” (www.timeand date.com/counters/mil2000.html).
The prophecies in the book of Revelation can only be interpreted with minimal errors after we reached the year 2001. After ten years of studying the book of Revelation with all its contents, a person becomes an expert in breaking its code. Thus we can say, in the year 2010, the book of Revelation is no longer a sealed book of prophecy.
